Miles Morland Foundation (MFF) happens to be accepting applications from young African writers for the annual writing scholarship. The MMF Writing scholarships main purpose is to give three fiction writers and one non-fiction writer the financial freedom to complete an English-language book.
Scholars writing fiction will receive a grant of £18, 000 paid monthly over the course of year or so. In the discretion of the inspiration, Scholars writing non-fiction may receive a grant of up to £27, 000 paid over a period of up to 18 months.
Each Scholar will be offered the possibility to be mentored by an established publisher or author.
Eligibility
- The Scholarships is open to anyone that had been delivered in Africa or both of whose parents were born in Africa.
- To qualify for the Scholarship a prospect must submit an excerpt from a piece of work of between 2, 500 - 5, 000 words written in English that has been published and offered for sale.
- The Scholarships are intended for full length works of adult fiction or non-fiction. Poetry, plays, film scripts, children's books, and short story collections do not qualify.
Note: This is not the goal of the Scholarships to support academic or medical research, or works of special interest such as religious or political articles. Submissions or proposals with this nature do not be eligible.

Applications Should block off all five things on the checklist below. If perhaps not, do not send a submission.
- A submission of between 2, 000 to 5, 500 words as a Phrase document of work which was published and offered available for sale.
- A description of up to 1, 1000 words about the new book you intend to write.
- A search within of the official document displaying that you, or both of your mother and father, were born in Africa.
- A quick bio of between 2 hundred - 300 words.
